Tips For Vagina Care/Healthy Vagina IV

Things that can affect the vagina's natural balance include:
  • Poor diet
  • Antibiotic treatment
  • Intense sexual activity (semen is alkaline and affects the vagina’s acidity)
  • Inadequate feminine hygiene
  • Synthetic underwear
  • Tight clothes (eg: skinny jeans and some sports clothing)
  • Daily use of panty liners
  • Feminine hygiene sprays
  • Excessive fragrance (perfumed or soap)
  • Dyed and scented toilet paper
  • Birth control pills
  • Stress
  • Harsh fabric softener used for underwear
  • Fatigue

Tips for Vagina Care
  • Don’t share towel
  • Use a suitable feminine wash instead of body shampoo
  • Ensure your hands are washed and clean before and after touching the vagina area
  • Wipe from front to back
  • Maintain maximum hygiene-clean your vagina at least twice a day
  • Avoid cosmetics such as perfume and powders
  • Exercising regularly to maintain your health
  • Wear 100% cotton underwear to promote healthy vagina
  • Consume yogurt
  • Safe sex. Having unprotected sex often can lead to vagina problems as well pregnancy and STDs.
  • Take out your old tampons. Change your tampon ever 4 hours for hygiene purpose.
  • Visit your gynecologist regularly
